Happy Things

Having an unexpected weekend off, I thought I'd list all the things that have happened to me in the last few weeks. Most of them happy. Here goes:

1. Getting flowers at work. It was a total surprise and the card really didn't lend any idea to who sent them. They were a giant, beautiful basket of flowers with a card that read "Thank you for all you do for our students and athletes. Have A Great Day! Your Lenape Family.". No one in my "family" (real or Lenape) claims to know who sent them. It also had 4 or 5 kids who were in the TR when they were delivered thinking I have a boyfriend/male or someone else I'm "hiding" from them! :) It did however turn a crappy, "funk"y, miserable mood I had been in for weeks completely 180 degrees around.

2. My "rituals" with my athletes. These include: one of our football linemen and I signing hip-hop while we tighten his shoulder harness, another linemen and I debating my "tough game" of the NFL football pick week, drawing on the tape job of one of our "never comes off the field" players, the hair tossle of one of our boys' soccer players and the "Would you rather" game with our girls soccer players. I don't think they realize superstition goes both ways in athletics and these rituals mean as much to me as them.

3. My Car. I'm enjoying sitting up high and having space around me. It's worked well so far and I'm happy with my choice, even though I miss my BMW.

4. My hair. I've been having a good hair day/week/month lately. It needs a little color touch-up. I've been debating something alone the lines of
and then I was thinking about just either downtoning to a honey blonde for the winter or going to the lightest highlights in my hair all over. I guess I need to find a colorist and get their opinion.

5. Friday when I showed up to work, we were evacuated due to a bomb threat. I was so proud of the way the kids shared warm clothes they had with each other, followed directions and behaved in such horrible circumstances.

6. Our football team is 3-5 and both of our Soccer teams are playing in the Semi-Finals of the State Tournament.

7. My Little Man has become snuggly. While normally I'd be a little upset that I'm losing sleeping space, he's sleeping the exactly same place Maverick used to sleep.

8. My Gnome Flannel Pajamas. The keep me warm and make me smile. :)

9. AJ's chili. I'm still thinking about it. It was GREAT. Even reheated for lunch Monday.

10. A nice, relaxing weekend doing nothing.
