Hey Everyone!
Since I was specifically named in Jersey's blog to do this, I feel I must.
Kinda like a dare, but I'm getting SO much better at turning them down in my old age. I DID however do a "trust fall" off the top bleacher with the Field Hockey team yesterday, as they kept asking, almost daring. It was scary, and I don't trust well...but even when I left my "stiff as a board" position for a "V" shaped position, I didn't seriously hurt anybody...although the "butt fall" does tend to be hard on the holders arms, so all is well. :) Anyway, here's my 7 of 7's (although I changed the last question, so instead of making 7 other people do this, you can read the goofy, high school music I'm listening to right now.) :)
7 Things I Plan To Do Before I Die
- Own a bulldog
- Live on a body of water (lake, ocean)
- Get married/have kids
- Skydive

- Laugh at stupid jokes
- Play the first coupld lessons worth of the piano
- Sing loudly and off tune! :)
- Watch sports everyday (gotta love it when it's your job)
- Wear jeans to work (this would be on a "dressy" day)
- Dance to my own tune (and I do it quite frequently)
7 Things I Cannot Do
- Curl my tongue (I've ALWAYS wanted to be able to do this...or touch it to my nose, can't do that either!)
- Ever imagine thinking of injuring an animal (I've just spent time on the RESCUE sites and some of these poor animals...) or a child
- Dance in a choreographed way (This white girl got some rhythym...it's the coordination that's off! :) )
- Let Things Go Easily (I'm working on it)
- Balance my check book (I come SO close!)
- Keep my room clean
- Ignore these stupid "Send this to your friends" emails/memes(I mean, really...it's like "Shave and A Haircut" how can the "TWO BITS" part left unfinished not drive you CRAZY!?!?!?!?!?!?)
7 Things That Attract Me To The Opposite Sex
(This one's SO much easier than the others!)
- Eyes
- Smile
- Sense of Humor
- Abs
- Arms
- Kindness
7 Things I Say Most Often
- I Hate People (I only kind of mean it)
- Get Some Ice
- Where Did I Put My.....
- Ya Know?
- I really should.....
- I'm so tired
- I need a life
7 Celebrity Crushes
(This one is so hard for me, because I really seem to go more for attitude than looks...like with Daniel Sunjata...more his character, than his looks I think.)
- Josh Lucas
- Josh Duhamel (Is there a "Josh" theme here?)
- James Denton
- Daniel Sunjata (from Rescue Me)
- Um...that's all I got! :)
7 Songs I'm Listening To Now
(Too much high school time, but...)
- Ohio (Come Back To Texas) -Bowling For Soup
- Beverly Hills -Weezer
- Alcohol -Brad Paisley

- Better Together -Jack Johnson
- God Only Knows -Beach Boys
- Waiting On A Friend -Rolling Stones
I may watch the VMAs tonight, so I'll try to work on that Celebrity Crush category! :)

Venting
Hey Everyone!
I debated (for about 20 minutes) sharing the latest training room escapade with you, but I'm still working on getting it out of my system, so you lucky friends and family have been chosen to hear it! :)
So, after a day where we saw 60 kids I had a few down minutes, so I decided to venture out onto the athletic fields (before this, every time I tried to head out, another athlete would come in to see me). I had just driven past the JV Boys' Soccer field, when one of my favorite coaches called me to come back for a kid who pulled his groin. When I got there, he was still on the field, sitting up, with two coaches at his side. After my usual witty banter...they sometimes laugh at my jokes :) ... I bent down to evaluate him. He was sore just to the left of...um...well, the place that makes him essentially different from me :), so I asked the coaches to please watch as I carefully palpated in that area. The 50-cent piece sized lump was a bit of a surprise. I told Athlete the good news was he didn't pull his groin. The bad news was the lump. We were either going to call an ambulance or transport him to the training room and have his parents take him to the ER. One attempt at stablizing his hip and moving him made our decision for us.
When the EMT's began taking care of him, I was having real difficulty biting my tongue. This became increasingly more difficult when the two EMTs were trying to decide between an ortho splint and a spine board. I suggested the board, given his pain with motion. The one EMT put her hand up, dismissed me (and Bill, my boss who had agreed out loud with me) and said she'd like to ask Athlete his choice. When you ask a 15 year-old with no medical idea if he can move his leg, he has no idea you mean lift directly up in the air (one of the many motions hurting him)! Not to mention that you haven't asked HIM what happened (just my account) or even palpated NEAR the area of the lump (of course, she poo-poo'ed me when I told her she was on the outside of his hip, when really it was mid-line groin. She informed me she didn't want to get close...even though there were 4 men standing around to "supervise", one being his father.)!!!!
They brought out the ortho splint. It's a cross between something you've seen on M*A*S*H and salad tongs. They "scoop" the patient in from both sides, snap it together to make a "cot" and secure them onto it. I can't even tell you the series of blunders (including almost snapping his head/hair in the top part as they tried to fasten in up top) I witnesses as they moved him freely to get the splint in place. I was becoming more and more uncomfortable (most of you know my lovely poker face which would lose me every hand I played). This culminated inside of me until the EMTs asked the police officer to help them "with his hips" so they could push the middle of the splint together (in the area of his injury) and he grabed both sides of his t-shirt around his waist and lifted his whole middle into the air. I had to stuff my hands in my mouth so I didn't audibly gasp and I turned away, so the parents and coaches wouldn't see me. I was sick to my stomach.
I had evaluated and palpated the area and wasn't really sure if the lump was soft tissue or bone. There was no way THEY could have known that all that movement wouldn't just hurt him worse, so how do you jusitfy putting someone in pain (he was such a trooper, you never would've known he was in any pain except the tremble in his chin as he bit his bottom lip) and potentially injuring them worse?!?!?! This was the second time one of these EMTs had, in my opinion, created a situation where I was almost positive one of my "patients" (the other was a staff member at the high school) had been injured worse by her actions. Bill has sworn he will talk to her supervisor and I will do everything I can to make sure he remembers to do this. I have even volunteered to go speak to the entire EMT squad to educate them on what we do.
I am trying hard to separate what my medical training tells me about what I saw and my feelings at be so dismissed as insignificant by this particular EMT. This is the second time she has done this....the last time, she breezed in, past Bill, myself and one of our nurses and said "I'm here now, you'll be o.k."...as if we were torturing her to death. IT was so GOOD she was there, as she was going to take a woman with a potentially dislocated shoulder/fractured arm and move her arm straight and to her side WITHOUT A SPLINT. IT was so UNFORTUNATE that I was there refusing to let go of her arm (the one I was stablizing above and below where I thought the injury was) until she had a splint on it. (They swore they didn't have any, so Bill and I accomodated them with one. Her diagnosis? Displaced fracture of the upper arm!)If the EMT hadn't been there, it's easy to see how our staff member wouldn't have been o.k.
I guess it just upsets me so because I feel very protective of "my" athletes. We should be the medical voice of them and in their best interest when they don't know better...and especially when we do. Well, I'll keep you posted on our young gentleman's condition. I just hope he's o.k. And I really can't wait until Bill talks to teh EMT supervisor!
Happy Wednesday everyone! (1 1/2 weeks of pre-season down, 1 1/2 weeks to go!)

Are You Ready For Some Football?
Hey Guys!
I just thought I'd check in with you after a long week at football pre-season. I always love the beginning of football season...well, football season in general. It's been a long time since I've worked pre-season football, and even those 10 years ago (my goodness, has it really been that long!??!?) it was college football, not high school.
It's amazing how much influence the NFL has on these players! Instead of being excited that they're playing high school football, I cannot tell you how many Freshman wanted different face masks, a snazzier helmet or not so tight fitting a chin strap and ear pads ('cuz heaven forbid the NFL players wear a properly fitting helmet! :) ).
I'll have you all know the "Angel of Death" tag our bastketball coach bestowed on me last winter still stands. The injury toll for last week is:
Wednesday - 1 dislocated shoulder (volleyball)
Thursday - 1 dislocted shoulder (football)
1 MCL Sprain (football)
1 Dislocated thumb (football) - needed an open reduction/surgery
1 Subluxed (dislocated, but then "pops" back in) kneecap (girls soccer)
1 possibly Fractured Wrist (girls soccer) ended up just sprained
1 dislocated/fractured pinkie (football)
1 post-surgery ACL reconstruction, who we thought may have re-torn or poorly rehabbed his ACL and possibly torn his MCL (football) ended up he just didn't rehab well, all ligaments intact (Yep, busy Thursday for us)
Friday - 1 dislocated shoulder (football) - torn labrum (the cartilage in the shoulder)
Not one little whiney person injury in the bunch! Now, granted Bill keeps reassuring me it's not my presence, but you all know my Yang. This is what my sister calls the ability for me to attract the weird people, situations and/or freaky stuff in life. :) Well, my Yang is in full force, once again. Let's just hope it calms down about. At this rate, we'll have to cancel all of our sports season for the fall in lieu of not enough healthy players! :)
Here's the thing that got to me yesterday and reminded me how influential professional athletes can be to our young people. (Talk about having - sometimes - the WRONG heroes!) At the end of practice/intrasquad scrimmage yesterday our varisty football team was running sprints, so I headed inside to get cleaned up. It was the end of a long week and I was ready for some relaxation before this coming week, when all of our sports are officially in full swing. Almost as soon as I got back to the Athletic Training Room, the radio called me or Bill back to the field. The young man we saw (we went together) had "tweaked" his knee running sprints. Bill evaluated him and came to the conclusion it was just a little "tweak" to the lower part of the thigh muscle (quad). He was having trouble walking, so Bill asked me to take him in on our golf cart while he headed out to the team huddle to talk to the coach once they finished. As we pulled away from teh field, the huddle broke and the team came running towards the locker room and, essentially, in our general direction. They young man on the back of the cart, raises his arm straight up into the air, with a fist (think hitler-esque, but a fist instead of open hand)towards his team. I yelled at him to put his hand down and hold on to the golf cart! He was trying to "showboat" and mimic the NFL players when THEY leave the field. I was just amazed and extremely annoyed. Every day I realize people never ceases to amaze me.
I'm off to get some rest before another fun week of high school preseason sports! Look for more stories as they occur! :)

www.278medic.blogspot.com
Hi Everyone! I forget how I got turned on to this site, but seeing as we're both medically trained people I've been following it. The gentleman writing is a medic from Tennessee currently in Iraq. I've enjoyed his site and his pictures for the last few months. The one yesterday was quite moving and I thought I'd share it with you all. If you'd like to read it from the origin, or to check out any of his other posts, I've listed the blogsite as the Title of this blog. Here's his musing (along with the picture)....
Today, during a memorial service on the FOB, we both mourned the loss and celebrated the lives and service of three of our 3rd Squadron 278th Regimental Combat Team brothers.
I did not know all three of them, but that does not lessen the pain that we all feel. I would like to take a moment and list the names of these fellow soldiers so that you may keep them and their families in your prayers:
SSG Asbury F. Hawn, II
SGT Gary L. Reese Jr.
SGT Shannon D. Taylor
Also wounded in the same attack and currently being treated for wounds:
SPC James K. Downs
I was given the honor of being the flag bearer of our unit, HHT 3/278, and proudly held our colors during the memorial service today. Those who attended the service, in addition to our units, were our Regimental CO and CSM, our Squadron CO and CSM (with the rest of the 3rd Squadron officers) our Chaplain and Iraqi Army officials.
Among the special speakers were representatives from each of the fallen soldiers' units, who gave personal accounts of the lives of our Cavalry comrades.
When the service began with all of our units standing at attention and the playing of Amazing Grace on bagpipes, a cold chill rushed down my spine. I then felt a lump in my throat and my whole body became numb for a few minutes. I am being totally honest. I always seem to feel some of these things while spending time at a war memorial or hearing the National Anthem or Amazing Grace being played, but never like this. Although I can say that the closest I have ever been to feeling like I did today was when I attended my wife's Grandfather's funeral. My Grandfather-in-Law was a proud WW2 veteran and I admire his service greatly.
Today was a day that I will not soon forget, maybe never forget.
"WE MUST NEVER FORGET"
Right now, I would like to thank all of my Armed Forces brothers and sisters for their service and sacrifice. I would also like to thank all of our families, friends and those who support our efforts and service. Without your support, we could not continue to "drive-on," and complete our mission. Thank you. God Bless.

30 Is Like 21, but better!
Hey Everybody!
Well, life as a 30 year old couldn’t be more fun! Why exactly is hard to say, as age is just a number. Thank you to all who sent their well-wishes. My birthday weekend was fabulous! Given that, I thought I’d share the stories, as well as one retrospective funny moment.
*Thursday Night (Yes, I’m going back as far as Thursday in my “It’s my birthday weekend” count) I went to dinner with an old co-worker from Lanier to catch up. We went to an Early Bird Special. My first one as an “old person”. ?
*Friday was a goofy kind of day. Here’s the retrospectively funny moment – I passed out at the doctor’s office. Before I go any further, let’s just say now…there’s no possible way I’m pregnant, so just stop thinking it! ? The whole story is a bit longwinded and not really funny. I went to the Dr. to get my allergy meds straightened out, as I’ve been permanently affixed to my inhaler this summer. It seems most people in this area with asthma/allergies have been. Now, remember when I said (at least I think I shared this sentiment) the next time I visited the doctor I was going to be taken there on an ambulance? I apparently lied. (Well, does it count since I really meant it when I said it?) Anyway, I caved and ran through the list of chronic ailments with the Physician’s Assistant AGAIN. Imagine my surprise when she said, “Let’s do some blood work.” Well, that’s what I’VE been thinking! So, the nurse (whom I now refer to as the Three Stooges Nurse) was having some trouble with the needle. When the blood stopped filling the vial, I was pretty sure they had completely drained me! No such luck, turns out, the vein or needle had moved, so she moved it until she found some more blood willing to flow. This happened 3 or 4 times and every time she switched the 2 ½ vials they took! By the last one, I was feeling like Charlie on that fizzy soda in Willy Wonka. After she finished, the rest is kinda fuzzy. I can’t remember the order, but it involved me dropping my magazine, vaguely hearing my voice say I was going to be sick, the nurse raising my feet (but not lowering my head…Silly Nurse!), then lowering my head as I began convulsing dry heaves! Happy Last Day of being 29! I WAS feeling better until the Dr. walked in to get something from the room and saw a pale, clammy, completely soaked through, unsteady version of me beginning to stand up. Before I could even think of being embarrassed the nurse jumped in and said “Sorry, she passed out.” Like I had just decided to do this with no (pun intended) extra prodding from her! I felt MUCH better after the Wheat bagel and Coolatta I had from Dunkin’ Donuts! Then off to the grocery before going to get Jill for Trish’s Birthday Bonanza.
We went to Chickie and Pete’s for Trish’s Birthday celebration. I don’t know what exactly made it fun, but it was a blast. I made party favor bags for the guests, since Trish was a bit upset about the no-one having a big party for her. (It all worked out and I think maybe better from her perspective than a big party would have.) They were a hit! Brenna brought a cake for Trish and I, so we sang and blew out candles…at the bar. Some people from Budweiser were handing out free beer to anyone drinking beer of another brand, and really what’s better than free beer on a “relive your youth” night out?!?!? Trish’s step-dad bought me a drink, then I got a free Budweiser one. I think I maybe had one more. My sister kept watching me the whole time, afraid I would try for Act 2 of the great passing out scene. She was very pleased when, in my Charlie with the soda voice, said “I think I need to eat something, Jilly!” Had some Old Bay fried with cheese dipping sauce and no more alcohol! ? Great catching up with good friends, then home again, home again.
*Saturday we invited my mom’s family over for a pre-Neil barbeque (or, to you Southerners, a cookout). I went out shopping in the morning for the food I ran out of time to get on Friday. I then came home and cooked. Apparently too much to my heart’s content. I mean really, 3 pounds of macaroni and cheese (from scratch, I might add) for 15 people? 10 pounds of chicken (we only BBQ’d half of it)? 15 ears of corn, Cream puffs, 2 9’inch Lush cakes, Fresh fruit and fresh veggie trays. Too much food! Whoever let me have a BJ’s AND Costco membership was whacked! ? It was great though. I felt like I got to talk and visit with family more than I usually do at our get-togethers. Just as everyone had about left, Trish showed up and I hightailed it upstairs for my big date/birthday present. I got a fun glittery top (which I have one picture of…it’s kind of greek-ish) with white jeans and off to hang out with Neil. Trish lent me her tiara from her birthday and off we went. Neil was awesome. I’m such a geek and danced and sang to all the songs I knew. It was even more fun than Jill, Reenie, Steph and Trish were being geeks with me. (Some were a little more subdued I think because of the free beer Friday night! ? ) I was upset that he didn’t sing September Morn, If You Know What I Mean, Love On The Rocks, Yesterday’s Songs and, just because it’s Reenie’s favorite, Heartlight. I now know why comic book people and Star Trek people go to conventions. It’s SO much fun to be surrounded by fellow geeks! ?
*Sunday we lounged around. Jill and I went to the pool for just under 2 hours, then we showered and got dressed. Mom, Dad, Jill and I went to The Quarter at Tropicana Atlantic City for my birthday dinner (a night late because of my rendezvous with Neil). We ate at an Irish Pub called Ri Ra. I branched out (as I’ve promised myself I will do now that I’m 30) and ordered the Bangers and Mash. Not bad, but not what I had my palate set for I decided. Then we hit the slots for a bit. As we were waiting for Jill to emerge from the restroom, I dropped in a few more quarters and ended up winning $45. Much more than we spent as a group! Yea Me! I cashed in, then we headed for the 7:45 reservation we had at a Desserts Only place called Brulee. It was a 3-course dessert. A bit expensive, but how often do you get to do a 3-course dessert? (It’s why we went to the cheaper dinner place…my choice.) Our first course was an apricot torte. Pretty much just an apricot with some pastry crusty stuff on one side and a carmel-flamed crust on the other, “set atop a bed of” real whipped cream. (Can you tell I’m not a frou-frou food lover?) Second was your choice from the menu. I chose the Cherries Brulee. It was o.k. The cherries were brandied and dumped in a pan, where 151 was poured on top and they were briefly lit on fire. I was drunk after one and couldn’t really get many of the others down, as there was no real cherry flavor and way too much alcohol flavor. Jill got some flaky pastry thingy with strawberries and lavender ice cream that was pretty good. Mom got an assortment of little chocolate things. They were all good. (We had agreed to shared everything, but everyone only got one or two cherries into mine before they couldn’t taste anything! ? ) Dad I think got the best one. He got something called No Holes Barred donut. It was two fried donuts in a butterscotch sauce with ice cream on top. Yum!!! The last course was a plate of little cookies (they call them petit-fours, but not the chocolate covered cakes I think of when they say petit-fours)…four of each kind. They were good too. It was a bit expensive for each dessert and maybe if my cherries had been better it might’ve been worth it. All in all, good for the experience. ? 3-Course desserts rock.
Yesterday, all the fun came to an end when football started. For the next two weeks, I’m up every day by 5:30am. It was a fun Summer while it lasted. 30 has been fun so far. For some reason, I’m glowy and giddy. I feel like the belle of the ball. Maybe it’s just two days of screwed up sleep! ? Well, here’s to hoping the next 362 days leave me feeling like the last two have.
It was SO Fun!! (Cheesy, hanging out with your friends fun.) Neil was great! Finally, a Neil that isn't completely disappointing! :) ENJOY!
BROTHER LOVE'S TRAVELING SALVATION SHOW
Hot August night
And the leaves hanging down
And the grass on the ground smellin' sweet
Move up the road to the outside of town
And the sound of that good gospel beat
Sits a ragged tent
Where there ain't no trees
And that gospel group tellin' you and me
It's Love, Brother Love, say
Brother Love's Traveling Salvation Show
Pack up the babies and grab the old ladies
And ev'ryone goes, 'cause everyone knows
Brother Love's show
Room gets suddenly still
And when you'd almost bet
You could hear yourself sweat, he walks in
Eyes black as coal
And when he lifts his face
Ev'ry ear in the place is on him
Starting soft and slow
Like a small earthquake
And when he lets go,
Half the valley shakes
It's Love, Brother Love, say
Brother Love's Traveling Salvation Show
Pack up the babies and grab the old ladies
And ev'ryone goes, 'cause everyone knows
Brother Love's show
[Sermon]
Take my hand in yours,
Walk with me this day
In my heart I know, I will never stray
Halle, halle, halle, halle

Cutest 2 Year-old EVER!
I know I already had a Herb Brooks post for today. Not to take anything away from Herb, but in celebrating life, there always seems to be the creation of a new one. Plus, I just got the cute pictures of Katie and I have to share them. I swear she's the cutest 2 year-old EVER! (Well, besides me. :) ) Ignore the large hip girl in the denim skirt....focus on the Katie! :)
Do You Believe In Miracles?
"You know, Willie Wonka said it best: We are the makers of dreams, the dreamers of dreams. We should be dreaming. We grew up as kids having dreams, but now we're too sophisticated as adults, as a nation. We stopped dreaming. We should always have dreams. I'm a dreamer." -Herb Brooks (1937-Aug. 11, 2003)

Stolen Survey Thingy
Well, this has been passed on and passed on from FondofElves to Jersey to Kare to Me...and now you guys are stuck reading it. Suckers! :) I answered as the neurotic, loveable, rambling me. :) Enjoy!
01. When you look at yourself in the mirror, what's the first thing you look at? It depends on what I'm wearing. If I can see my body and there's skin showing, well the fat blubbering around my middle and ever-growing hips is what I look at first. Sucks, right? I wish I could focus on the good stuff first!
02. How much cash do you have on you? Nuttin'. I'm in my gym clothes.
03. What's a word that rhymes with "TEST"? Messed
04. Favourite plant? I know it's "sent from the devil" (or the devil itself, it's been so long since I've seen my g-mom's brother I forget what he calls it), but I kinda like Kudzu.
05. Who is the 4th person on your missed call list on your cell phone? Who knows? I miss EVERY call, because unless I'm in my car, I almost never have my cell phone on.
06. What is your main ring tone on your phone? The Rodeo interactive Vision thingy. It's VERY distinct. However, I downloaded some MP3's, now I just gotta figure out how to get them on my phone!
07. What shirt are you wearing? a grey tank top from um...I think Wal-Mart, 'cuz I'm off to the gym when I'm done playing here.
08. Do you "label" yourself? Only that one night at Brenna's house, when, after having a conversation with Reenie about the upcoming VH1 special the Top 10 Jen's (or something like that) that I had been number 10.5, so I just missed being on the special. So, we took out the labels Brenna had left for us all to write our names on and wrote...I was 10.5 out of 10 Jen's! Then we all got a little carried away with teh labels and the marker and the names that came out...whoa! :)
09. Name brand of your shoes currently wearing? Barefoot baby!
10. Do you prefer a bright or dark room? Dark. It's rumored by my family that I live in a cave. :)
11. What did you have for breakfast? A Bowl of Flax Plus Granola with a little 2% milk ('cuz I don't like milk and if you add too much the granola gets soggy and mushy and really, how can you eat it like that?!?!? If you don't add any though, it's kinda sweet and crunchy.) and Guava Mango juice.
12. Last movie you rented from Blockbuster/local video store? I currently have Mallrats, George Carlin: My Personal Favorites and The Sandlot sitting on my t.v. waiting to be viewed, thanks to Netflix!
13. What were you doing at midnight last night? Watching the Phillies flounder.
14. What did your last text message you received on your cell phone say? You gotta pay for that stuff! :)
15. Do you ever click on "Pop Ups" or Banners? I've clikced on a banner by accident, when I was clicking on something and missed.
16. What's an expression that you say a lot? Depends on the day...most days it's, "get some ice", but quite often it's "I Hate People".
17. Who told you they loved you last? Those actual words? Might be hard to say. Otherwise, either Kare or Amy.
18. Last furry thing you touched? Little Man. (It was hard not to touch him, he was first staked out in his normal sleeping spot on the bed, but I wasn't giving him enough attention, because of this thing, so he moved his 22 pound self over to my lap!)
19. How many hours a week do you work? Work? What's that? (Better remember quick, because I'm down to just 4.5 days left of summer vacation!)Usually 40.
20. How many rolls of film do you need to get developed? I have this camera problem. I like disposables because they're easy to carry and if you lose it, not as expensive as a digital. However, I never seem to use up ALL the film on one camera, so I think I have 3 or 4 1/2 used cameras floating around here somewhere. (Jerm, YES, your April wedding accounts for 2 of the half used cameras and I swear I will use them soon so I can send you the pictures!)
21. Favourite age you have been so far? I have to agree with Kare that 21 was pretty great. For all the time I looked forward to being 25, it wasn't so hot. I'm more cautious about 30.
22. Your worst enemy? I wouldn't call them enemies, but lets just say there'd have to be no other people on the planet and TONS of incentive to ever save them if they were dying.
23. What is your current desk top picture? Amy's daughter Katie playing with her toes. (Although it's time for a new one. Pictures please! :) )
24. What was the last thing you said to someone? "Then you'd better get back to work" when my mom wondered how she was ever going to get done to meet me at the gym by her 6:30 yoga class.
25. If you had to choose between a million bucks or to be able to go back in time and fix all your mistakes which would you choose? It's tough...but I've gotten so much better at forgiving myself of the mistakes and I've never had a chance to forgive myself for having a million dollars. :)

Miller Time
Hey Guys! I posted these backwards, so start at the bottom of the pictures and read up! :) I swear the thought processes are going the closer I get to 30! :) :)
I'm sorry this is so hard to see. It'll teach me to buy cheap cameras for my vacations (the California pictures are grainy like this too!)! Anyway, here's Don, Kathy and I at Miller Park. Except for the Ladies who talked NON-STOP for 8 innings, it was a perfect night for baseball! :)

Harley
This is Don and I before we set off for an hour or so Harley ride through the most beautiful countryside. I swear we went 20 minutes without seeing another vehicle! I also got to see where Don grew up, some of his family and lots of farms. Just reaffirming my idea I could live on a farm! :) (Now, just try to get me out of bed at 4am to DO any work on it! :) )
178 Steps Later
This is the view from the top of a tower at Holy Hill. Check out this site for more info about Holy Hill. http://www.holyhill.com
We saw all of it, I'm pretty sure. If not, we walked enough to have seen all of it! :)

Milwaukee Museum of Art
Hey Everyone! Just thought I'd post some pictures of my recent trip to Milwaukee. (Don't worry...the California pictures are coming. We're having our house painted and I can't find them all right now! :( ) Here's the Museum of Art. The "wings" on this museum "flap" every day at noon, so we went to see it. It's really pretty cool to watch them go down and cover the building. Can you picture it?

Random Thoughts and Musings
Yep. It's that time again. The time when I have lots of thoughts and no energy to put them into long thought out blogs. So, here's the random musings list from me to think on.
* I was reading Glamour on the plane and read that more and more women are pro-life. In discussing political views with my mom, she always said Roe v. Wade would never be overturned because people wouldn't want to go back to the way things were. If this article is correct, we could be in danger of that happening. Believe it or not, the reasons why they felt the way they do made complete sense. While I personally am pro-life, I AM politically pro-choice. It disturbs me to think one day the control of our bodies may not really be our own. Maybe it is time newer generations be reminded how far we have come and why we don't want to go back. If you get a second, check the article out in the August edition with Nicole Kidman on the blue cover.
* I really think I would be perfectly happy living on a farm.
* Kids grow up too fast. My little Katie was talking over the phone today. I can't believe it's been a year since I've seen her. She's walking and talking now. I know I haven't seen her mom (my friend Amy) since then, but I know Amy knows me and remembers me. How's Katie supposed to get to know me when I only see her once a year? I REALLY need to get better at writing and maybe sending LOTS of pictures.
* A funny story from my trip to Wisconsin...my first night there, I woke a few times during the night. The first time was because I smacked my hand on the metal bar of the headboard. The second time, I forget what I hit. The third time I woke up and felt like the right side of my lip was swollen. I was half asleep and trying to feel with my tongue to figure out if it was really swollen or if I was imagining it. It was really sore, but it didn't feel swollen when I felt around the outside with my fingers, but the inside felt like there was a pea sized lump there. So, there I lay, half asleep, struggling to keep from nodding off altogether trying to figure out whether or not my lip was swollen, to figure out if I was going to have some weird, horrible dysfigured lip on my first night of vacation. Well, maybe it was funnier if you were living it. :) ( It turns out it was swollen, but went down enough after my shower so no one really noticed-or didn't say anything. It progressively got less swollen and sore as the next day went on. Don't ask me why it was swollen to begin with. Never figured it out.)
* Choppers are cool. Lots of chrome. I like sparkly things! ;) Guys who hang out at Cycle rallies are cool too. I stayed away from them, I'm getting better. Good guys - good; bad boys - BAD. See? I did not participate in the Tattoo contest (because I don't have one), did not wear a tank top OR any shirt with no bra and in the 88 degree heat, couldn't imagine putting on jeans and boots, let alone leather.
* I finally got some pictures developed. You should never buy cheap disposable cameras, the pictures are terrible. I should be emailing them soon.
* It's so nice to have someone happy to see you when you get home. He was a little mad at first, but the next night, just curled up right next to me like he always does. (He's gonna be SO mad Thursday when I leave again. Poor kitty!)
* Why aren't the shows I want to see ever on #1 - when I can see them or #2 at different times.
* Football starts in 13 days. It's still 96 every day. 1 + 1 = SUCKS!!! :)
* I am pretty excited about turning 30. It's nice to feel like your mature insides have finally caught up with your body and actual age.
* In the same vein, I always thought I'd be married by 25. What happened? Time flies so quickly. One minute you're thinking I'm too young to settle down and the next minute you're wondering if you missed something. I know I've said this before, but some days I feel like that. Other days I wonder why I'm not out galavanting every night, enjoying my youth.
* I have so much I need to do, and have no desire to do most of it.
Well, I'm off to bed. Hope ya'll have a great night! :)
* Football starts in 13 days. It's still 96 every day. 1 + 1 = SUCKS!!! :)
