"You can't have Thanksgiving without turkey. That's like Fourth of July without apple pie, or Friday with no two pizzas." -Joey Tribiani
I love Thanksgiving. It's not so much the giving thanks part, but the eating large amounts of my favorite foods part. Not to mention the football all day and the after dinner nap. This year, my mom wanted to eat Thanksgiving Dinner out. Somehow, that just seems like a sacrilage. I know there are some people who love to eat out, but when you can make good food and eat good food, exactly the kind of food you like - not hoping the place where you're eating has the "good stuffing" or a vegetable you like - why give that up? It's not often you get big meals, why compromise that?
Not only do I like eating Thanksgiving, but I like cooking Thanksgiving dinner. The biggest dilema was the appearance of a Thanksgiving Day football game on my schedule this year. Luckily, our opponent made the playoffs and the games was moved to Friday. Thanksgiving dinner gives Mom ojeta. The planning, the cooking...she begins hyperventilating just thinking about it. In an effort to be easy to get along with, I did relent a bit and this year, we ordered the pies from a farm across the street from my school. I love Pumpkin Pie! Funny thing is, I don't eat it much other than at Thanksgiving. Same thing with Sweet Potatoes.
Well, all this talk about food has made me hungry. Guess I should go eat lunch. I hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving!!!! Happy Eating! :)
