Wuzzup People! :)
So, tonight I trekked an hour from here to Neptune NJ for a Girls' State Semi-Final soccer game. I made the trek with our Athletic Director, Assistant Principal of Discipline (and former Assistant Athletic Director) and our new Principal. I like our new Principal and have been rooting for him, despite never having had much interaction with him. He's young (apparently my age, although I look younger! :) ) and into sports. He also seems to try talking to me, but I'm usually focused on the game or injuries. I wanted just to let him know I was not a "stick-in-the-mud" person. We're on the way up and I start talking to him about differences in schools, etc. He has worked at two of our other district high school, one being my alma mater. When we covered this, he asked me when I graduated. He started mentioning names of guys who were a year ahead of us that he played football with at Rowan. (Trish - if you see this, Nicky G, DiBart and Daly.) Strange throwback into memory lane for me and in a weird way I think a "this girl's got layers" point for me with our new principal.
On the way home in talking about the game I made an inside joke reference to our girls coaches. I am SO afraid he took it as a serious dislike of them. I tried to explain and after some conversation on this let him know I really DID like them. Thing of it is, the joking comment I would've made to their faces and they would've known it was out of love and picked on me back. They are a group of my favorite coaches and we have a great relationship. Now, maybe I've spent too much time in high school around high school students, but I almost worry it get back to our coaches as an I don't like them and it matters to me what they think. I know, I'm a girl. Sue me!
I'm in late tomorrow, so I may just putz around the house being a slug. Maybe I'll make cookies and take them to school or something else homemakerish. I've been channeling Barbara Billingsly lately and haven't the slightest idea why. Guess it's winter and I feel I should nest?
Weight Watchers is going, but I'm slacker majorly on that too. I'm hungry alot and I don't get NEARLY enough points a day! :)
We had a deer in our school today. Apparently around midnight this 8-point buck jumped 5 feet and smashed through a window into the cafeteria in our school. It was trapped there, bleeding and ramming things until 6am, when a VERY startled Cafeteria worker came in to get things ready, opened a door and the deer, on hind legs, stood straight up to greet her. He ran around frantically for awhile until she unlocked the glass door and then it ran out. It was apparently not hurt enough to not be able to escape. Here's hoping he lives a long life after that! He was the talk of school today and I'm sure had MUCH to relay to his deer friends! :)
Alright, Mugsy (the Webkin Bulldog mom bought me to help me with baby step commitments) and I are off to bed. Hope ya'll're well. G'night.
