OK....I promised Kare a blog on the Golden Rule (Well, actually I just told her I'd blog...I picked the topic! :) )
I've been reviewing The Golden Rule. I think it needs to be changed. See...it doesn't take into consideration "good" people. As I recall... the Golden Rule reads "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you." I really don't like this rule. It doesn't take consequences into consideration. I mean...if I do unto you as I would want done unto me, what do they have to do?
So, where does it make them?!?!?! I want a nice forceful Golden Rule. One that guarantees me just reward! :) I wanna know that the person I'm "Doing unto" is required to "do unto me"! :) I'm sick of doing unto others! It gets me tired, unappreciated, hurt, disappointed, and depressed. When do they have to "do unto me"?
Maybe it's not the rule that needs changing. Maybe it's those I "do unto". Maybe I need to "do unto" those who I know feel the same way.Maybe the "doing unto" the wrong people is my problem, not the lack of inforcement. It's an interesting thought. One I guess I need to look into more. However, I still think somewhere...the rule needs add my guarantee! :)
